About Us

Sunday Worship

Every Sunday we meet together at 10:30 am to sing, pray, and hear the preaching of God’s Word.  We love singing God’s praises through both traditional and contemporary hymns, rich with meaning, deep and focused on the character of the Lord.  Our preaching is from the Bible, the Word of God, as we attempt to faithfully understand all that our Lord wants us to know about Him and about ourselves.  We also love being together, encouraging each other, getting to know one another, and building community.

Our Mission

To build a community of worshippers of the Triune God: equipping each for ministry, fostering spiritual growth and fellowship, and evangelizing the lost in our community and beyond.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called youout of darkness into his marvelous light.

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds[a] and teachers,[b] 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[c] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Our Statement of Faith

From the Word of God, we believe the following essential truths:

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, necessary, sufficient and authoritative for all matters of faith, life, and godliness.

God

We believe there is one God, infinitely perfect, eternally existing in three distinct persons, the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried and after three days rose bodily from the dead, conquering sin and death, and is now seated at the right hand of God.

Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, rebelled against Him, and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death. As a result, all are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and in need of salvation.

Salvation

We believe that God, by His grace and mercy, has provided salvation through Jesus Christ for all who repent of their sins and trust in Him. Those who repent and believe are forgiven of their sins and reconciled to God. This salvation is offered to all through the preaching of the Gospel.

We believe that as a result of man’s sinfulness, he is unwilling to follow God and unable to save himself; therefore, it is necessary that all should be regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to be saved.

We believe every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and, empowered by His grace, will be led by the Spirit in a new life, obeying God and growing in Christlikeness.

The Church

We believe that all true believers, united through faith in Christ and submission to His Word comprise the universal Church. The local church gathers together for worship, mutual edification, and the proclamation of the Gospel.

The End of the Age

We believe that at the end of the age Jesus Christ will return to this earth visibly, physically, and suddenly, in power and great glory to take up His Church from this earth and so the saints shall always be with the Lord.

We believe in the coming Day of Judgment and the future bodily resurrection of those who have died; those who have not trusted in Christ will enter eternal punishment in hell and those who have trusted in Christ will enter eternal life in heaven.

Our Confession of Faith

In addition to our basic statement of faith, TMBC has adopted what is known as the London Baptist Confession of 1689 (LBCF1689). The LBCF1689 is a more thorough doctrinal statement with scripture references that covers the most central teachings of the Bible in an expanded but still concise way.

In other words, the LBCF1689 is a summary of what we believe the Bible teaches on the most important theological topics.

Our Core Values

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of TMBC’s existence-Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone and His Word is our sure guide.

Grounded upon the Gospel, we cherish the following essential values:

Worship

We want to be a community of worshippers, devoted to the King and His Kingdom.  This worship involves corporate worship opportunities, but also daily sacrificial living as an offering unto  the Lord (Rom 12:1-2).  We worship the Lord by obeying Him and following wherever He leads.  We honor Him by being regularly on our knees in prayer before Him, individually and corporately.

Fellowship

The New Testament word for fellowship means to share or partake in.  We share together in being part of the family of God, thus becoming family ourselves. It is our conviction that the family of God must share in responsibilities, burdens, and joys.  To that end, our fellowship and sharing includes: 1) equipping the saints for ministry, 2) studying the Word together, 3) fostering unity and community through small group interactions and prayer, 4) bearing each other’s burdens (material and otherwise).

Mission

There is a clear commission from the Lord in the New Testament to go forth and proclaim His Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).  We are convinced that this commission includes personal and corporate evangelism, missions, and the planting of new churches.  Mission includes the spreading of the Gospel outside of our own communities and living out the Gospel through acts of mercy.  To that end, TMBC will train our members to evangelize, use our resources to support various mission and missionaries, find ways to care for the widows and orphans (James 1:27), and look forward to planting more churches for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom.
